When you show up at a job, you need to prove that you can do it well. That’s the simplest way to explain the idea of school accreditation. The school needs to prove to an accrediting board that they are qualified to teach what they say they’re teaching. This is not a simple process, at all. The school has to spend time documenting their teaching methods, they need to hire well-trained teachers, etc. And for some technical colleges, they may never get accredited. But is this important at all for your career after a technical college?
Why Accreditation is Important for You
Though you might not like it, going to a good school is important. When you go to a school which has actually been reviewed to ensure that it’s a good school, you are going to be exposed to technical college programs which are going to help you become a better whatever you are trying to become. In addition, when you attend an accredited school, you will be able to:

- Teach with your degree at another institution.
- Transfer your credits to another institution.
Before you apply for a technical college, it’s a good idea to see what sorts of certifications and accreditations they have. If this isn’t something that’s important to you, head to a diploma mill. But when you want your degree to mean something to future employers, you might want to stick with the technical colleges who know what they’re doing.
